The Fast Track to a Job in Construction

Get Certified to Work in Construction in 10 Weeks at No Cost

Miami Dade College and the Lennar Foundation have launched MDC Builds, a program that prepares students for entry-level construction jobs. Employment for construction laborers and helpers is expected to grow 12% between 2016-2026 (faster than average) according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Join an Industry with Growing Demand

This is a 10-week program that is offered at no cost to the student. The program includes classroom instruction and hands-on training. In addition to the free training, students are provided with transportation vouchers and meals.

Cohort Schedule

The next cohort will be on May 31, 2023

  • Morning session – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm (Monday – Thursday)
  • Evening session – 5:00 – 9:00 pm (Monday – Thursday)

Classes are taught in English, including books and tests.

  • Carpentry
  • Electrical systems
  • Construction math and
  • Other essential skills needed in the ever-growing Florida construction industry

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be 18+ years old and unemployed or underemployed.
