Career assessment can provide you with a more realistic appraisal of yourself. They will help you clarify your values, things that are important to you; define your interests, things that you enjoy; and identify your skills, things you do well. Assessments are useful in narrowing down or generating career options and serve as a starting point for career exploration.

Occupational Exploration

Occupational exploration entails learning about occupations and the world of work in order to make better-informed career decisions. To explore occupations, work by areas, link majors to occupations, educational requirements and salaries visit Choices Planner or Career Coach. To explore occupations by industry classification, educational requirements, employment outlook, salary and other important features, visit Career OneStop, Occupational Outlook Handbook, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and O’Net Online.
