The Office of Legal Affairs reviews all College contracts, affiliation agreements and Memoranda of Understanding.
In order to provide the Office of Legal Affairs with the necessary information to expedite and facilitate the contract review process, the Office of Legal Affairs has developed an intake and transmittal form which must accompany each contract submitted for review. Among the information provided in this form is the date by which the contract review must be completed. Contract documents should be legible and must be read by the individual who submits them to ensure that their content comports with the agreed upon business and programmatic terms. Electronic versions of the documents as well as copies of prior contracts with the same vendor will serve to expedite the review and negotiation process and should be submitted whenever possible.
Once the College Legal Counsel has reviewed and made any necessary changes, the agreement is sent to the appropriate College party for signature. Once signed by an authorized College official, the contract is returned to the department requesting the contract review.
Filing and Maintenance
Contracts and agreements are administered and maintained at main offices of the department or campus which is responsible for the performance and oversight of the contract or agreement. However, in order to enhance college-wide access to important records, copies of documents memorializing important partnerships and agreements entered into between campuses and outside institutions and organizations should be provided to the Office of Legal Affairs. These should include all college-wide agreements, and significant agreements and partnerships between an individual campus and an outside institution.
