Spend an “Intensivo” Summer with Teatro Prometeo Theatre at Miami Dade College

Spanish-language theater classes for children and adults offered at Miami's only conservatory-style theater training school

Miami, May 7, 2008 - This summer, actors of all ages can brush up on their skills or learn a new stage craft at Miami's preeminent Spanish-language theater training school Teatro Prometeo Theatre at at the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College (MDC) Wolfson Campus.

Teatro Prometeo Theatre will offer weekly evening and Saturday Spanish-language classes in acting, singing, movement, voice, and acting for the camera for adults beginning May 10 through Aug. 7. 

The program will also feature an array of unique classes, such as a bilingual, intensive master class on physical training for actors from May 19 to 31. Taught by acclaimed actor, director and choreographer Neil David Seibel, the class is designed to help actors become stronger, more physical and creative. The deadline to register for this class is May 16. Space is limited.   

Also, from Jun. 9 to 27,  Los Prometeitos Summer Theatre Camp will offer children and teens the opportunity to enhance their artistic skills in a series of three, one-week Spanish-language camps on acting, singing and dance, which run from from 8am to 2pm.

Intensive Bilingual Theatre Master Class for Adults
May 19 - 31, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Instructor: Neil David Seibel.
Cost: $600 for both sessions.

WEEK 1: Physical Actor Training - working from specific disciplines: Viewpoints, Growtowski, Asian theatre, contact improvisation, and more.

WEEK 2: Composition Building - a new interpretation on how to create your character and work with text.

About the instructor: Neil David Seibel, currently part of the faculty at Metropolitan State College in Denver, is an actor, director and choreographer. He has directed for the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, the Director's Collective of NYC, Salt of the Earth Theatre Company, the American Laboratory for Actor Training, Theatre West Virginia, and Actors Theatre of Louisville.  A member of Actors Equity Association, his credits include the Off Broadway production of Jonathon Larson's JP Morgan Saves the Nation, Lewis and Clark, six seasons as a company member with Theatre Aspen and regional contracts at the Denver Center Theatre Company, the Arvada Center for the Arts, the Alley Theatre in Houston, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Theatre Under The Stars, Theatre West Virginia, and the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. He has written several solo plays produced throughout the US and Europe
