MDC Conference Promotes Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

Miami, March 11, 2009 - Each year since 2000, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) InterAmerican Campus’ Mathematics and Natural and Social Sciences departments host the Exact Sciences Conference, an opportunity to promote career opportunities in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Conference speakers are selected from a broad sample of the South Florida business and educational environments. Conference events are free and open to the public.

This year’s conference will be held at the InterAmerican Campus, 627 S.W. 27 Ave., on Tuesday, Mar. 24, through Thursday, Mar. 26. MDC Professors Sergio Garcia, Antonio Ramos, Dr. Raul Mederos, Dr. Cleveland Taylor, and Dr. Mario Sanchez will present. Dr. Rosany Alvarez is serving as the conference coordinator.

Conference partners include Motorola, Amadeus North America, University of Florida, Nortel CALA, Miami-Dade County, Nokia Siemens Networks, the National Hurricane Center, and Florida International University.
