City of Miami Names Miami Dade College InterAmerican Campus President a Woman of Distinction at Annual Breakfast

Dr. Gina Cortés-Suaréz, president of Miami Dade College’s InterAmerican Campus

Miami, May 7, 2012 - Dr. Gina Cortés-Suaréz, president of Miami Dade College’s (MDC) InterAmerican Campus (IAC), was selected by City of Miami Commissioner and MDC alumnus Frank Carollo as a Woman of Distinction at the annual Miami Commission on the Status of Women’s (MCSW) breakfast held recently. 

Each year in March, the MCSW hosts a breakfast to honor local women who have made major contributions worldwide, to the local community, and whose great works are deserving of recognition.  This year’s theme, Women’s Education – Women’s Empowerment recognizes the pioneering leadership of women and their impact on diverse areas of education.

The inscription on Dr. Cortés-Suaréz’ award reads:  

A special tribute to the contributions of an illustrious citizen of South Florida, Dr. Gina Cortés-Suaréz, president, Miami Dade College InterAmerican Campus.

Honoring her outstanding service, dedication, and commitment to excellence as a member of the South Florida community, serving as a respected catalyst for excellence and creative involvement who models exceptional pioneering leadership as a beacon of inspiration and goodwill in the development of the spirit of community in Miami.
