Miami Dade College North Campus to Host Free Food Distribution Event

Miami, October 3, 2013 - Miami Dade College’s(MDC) North Campus will host a Free Food Distribution at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 4. The event is co-presented by State Representative Cynthia Stafford and Farm Share, a non-profit organization that packages and distributes nutritious food for the needy, especially the elderly.

More than 100 volunteers, including MDC students, will participate to help sort and distribute the pre-cooked food, including fruits, vegetables and poultry. 

Farm Share re-sorts and packages an abundance of surplus food and distributes it to individuals, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, churches, and other organizations feeding the hungry in Florida – free of charge. 

Food will be available on a first come first serve while supplies last.
