Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus and Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami Company & School to Present The Nutcracker Suite Dec. 17


Miami, December 13, 2013 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Wolfson Campus and Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami Company & School (CCBM), under the artistic direction of Pedro Pablo Peña, will present The Nutcracker Suite on Tuesday, Dec. 17. There will be a performance at 11:30 for college students and at 8:00 p.m. for the general public.

Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami Company & School will bring the joy and magic of the holiday season that comes to life in this beautiful ballet, set to Tchaikovsky's most memorable score, with beautiful costumes, magical multimedia and breathtaking choreography by CCBM's ballet master, Eriberto Jimenez. MDC, a cultural beacon throughout its 53-year history, is among the venues hosting performances.

“This is a golden opportunity for our students and the community at large to appreciate a holiday classic, said Dr. Jose A. Vicente, president of the Wolfson Campus. “The Wolfson Campus is proud to collaborate in promoting the arts with this presentation in conjunction with the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami Company.”

“Since its inception in 2005, the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami has offered its support and artistic space to Cuban dancers who seek exile in the U.S.,” said Pedro Pablo Peña, founder and artistic director of the CCBM.  “It is our pleasure to present these ballet talents to our South Florida audience who will surely appreciate their artistic excellence and technique.”
