Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus Presents On Stage Concert Series, Through April


Miami, January 16, 2014 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Kendall Campus presents its official concert series, On Stage. Performances are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

On Stage will highlight the combined talents of students and faculty in the Music, Theater and Dance Department. Each season, the series presents an exciting line-up of entertaining and culturally-significant performances by accomplished artists and rising stars from Jazz and Gospel music to classical and theatrical realism and experimental dance. Among the special offerings this season will be a Cotton Club Black History Celebration in February; a Vocal Fusion/Vocal Jazz Ensemble in March; and a series of entertaining events during Arts & Letters Day including concerts, theater, workshops, and special presentations in April. On Stage offers something for everyone to enjoy!

MDC Kendall Comes Alive

Saturday, February 1, 7 p.m., South Dade Cultural Arts Center

Kendall Campus students showcase their singing, dancing, acting, and performing talents.

MDC High School Piano Competition

Saturday, March 1, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., McCarthy Auditorium/Room 6120

The annual high-school competition and audition is open to high school students currently enrolled in either Miami-Dade or Broward County Schools. Students enrolled in private or charter high schools are also eligible to apply. A cash prize of $200 will be awarded to the first place winner and music scholarships will be offered to qualified high school seniors interested in attending MDC’s Kendall Campus.

MDC Honor Band Festival

Sunday, March. 23, 7 p.m., South Dade Cultural Arts Center

The campus lights up the South Dade Cultural Arts Center with MDC Wind Symphony Conductor Brian Neal and other guest artists who will showcase their talents. This is a special performance not to be missed.  Admission: $10.
