About Us

Our methodology and approach to learning, teaching, and pedagogy is based upon universal design theory (UD).

Universal Design

Universal Design
is the design of products and environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design. Universal design is an approach utilized to the design products and environments, including educational and instruction materials, that considers the the variety of abilities, disabilities, racial/ethnic backgrounds, reading abilities, ages, and other characteristics of the student body. Universal Design theory is based upon Cognitive Psychology and Neurology.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
is a theory of teaching and learning based on Neuroanatomy and functional Neuroimaging research techniques. UDL resists a one-size-fits-all approach to education, and  instead recognizes that teachers, educators, and materials should effectively respond to the individual differences inherent within a learning environment. The principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) support the following precepts:

* Students need various ways to acquire information and knowledge
* Students need alternatives ways to demonstrate what they have learned
* Students need interaction that holds their interest and motivates them
