The Miami Dade College (MDC) District Board of Trustees and Presidential Search Committee invite applications and nominations for the presidency of MDC, a recent winner of the prestigious Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and the Lumina Foundation Innovation Judges’ Choice Prize. For 11 consecutive years, MDC has been recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education as a “Great College to Work For,” and is once again a member of the Honor Roll.
The College seeks an accomplished leader who has the ability to successfully lead and manage a large, multisite, complex higher education organization.
The new president will succeed Dr. Rolando Montoya, who has been serving with distinction as interim president since the retirement of President Emeritus Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón, who was a transformational leader over his quarter century of service.
The president reports to a seven-member District Board of Trustees, all of whom are talented and highly accomplished professionals with tireless dedication to MDC. The District Board expects to conclude the search process by mid- May and the new president will assume his/her duties in July 2020.
MDC is a member of the Florida College System, a group of 28 state colleges. It is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
