MDC understands the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our community, including loss of employment for many. In an effort to help during this difficult time, we have developed a catalog of online professional development courses so you can acquire the skills you need to rejoin the workforce.

MDC and the MDC Foundation have joined forces to ensure that cost is not a deterrent for anyone. Scholarships are available for all students. The scholarship will be automatically applied when you register for the course. Capacity is limited, so please register soon.

English Covid-19 Contact Tracer Training

This 4 hour training program will provide contact tracing training and support to those most vulnerable to COVID-19 by educating a targeted population of current and future healthcare-involved workers to conduct contact tracing within our community.Training modules will include basic pathophysiology of SARS-CoV-2 to evolving COVID-19 diagnosis and prevention and quarantine protocols and instructions. Students will learn strategies for effective contact tracing based on CDC and Florida Department of Health guidelines, how to communicate and track persons diagnosed with COVID-19 and their contacts as well as how to deal with ethical issues pertaining to this pandemic.

Cloud Computing – Microsoft Azure Fundamentals

Azure Fundamentals certification is an opportunity to prove knowledge of cloud concepts, core Azure services, Azure pricing, and the fundamentals of cloud security, privacy, compliance, and trust. This certification is intended for people beginning to work with cloud-based solutions and services. In addition, candidates will become familiar with concepts of networking, storage, compute, application support, and application development. Cybersecurity – Certified Secure Computer User (CSCU)

This course will introduce students to the basics of secure computing while getting EC-Council Certified Secure Computer User (CSCU) certified. Course provides students with an overview of the current cyber threat landscape and includes topics such as phishing, social engineering, email and internet security, identify theft and financial fraud, malware, and privacy. Course also provides exposure to the state-of-the-art Cyber Range for demonstration purposes. CSCU eBook and exam vouchers are included.

Geographic Information Systems – Intro to GIS

This course is designed to help students prepare for the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Entry 19-001 Exam. In this course students will learn basic ArcGIS concepts and the ArcGIS platform. They will also learn how to navigate ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS online, and ArcGIS Apps by completing entry-level mapping and visualization tasks, editing, sharing, analysis and data management tasks. By using GIS Tutorial 1 for ArcGIS Pro, a step by step workbook with accompanied assignments we will cover ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ESRI Story Maps, Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS, and Collector for ArcGIS.

Magic of Repeatable Sales

This six-week online workshop series will help students master a step-by-step framework to create and test sales models for their business. This interactive workshop will give students a chance to learn from a lecture environment, apply those tools and present their work to the class and professor for feedback. Digital Marketing Analytics

This bootcamp style course will introduce students to the basics of digital marketing analytics and help them understand how to use data to ensure their marketing is effective. Investment Fundamentals and Practice

This bootcamp will introduce students to the basics of financial analysis, risk management, trading and investment process. Students will also be able to learn about the link between macroeconomics and capital markets. During this class, professors will use the resources available through the Business, Innovation and Technology Center at MDC (BIT), including our newly-launched BIT Financial Technology & Trading Room, which includes a Bloomberg Terminal.

Basics of Technical Analysis for Financial Trading

eCommerce & Future of Supply Chain

This bootcamp will introduce how technology is transforming the way the modern supply chain responds to the consumers’ demand and the growth of eCommerce. Temporary Instructor Training

In collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), MDC SOE has developed this course.  The Substitute training course is required in order to become a substitute teacher within Miami Dade County Public Schools and other schools in the area.  Work as a substitute teacher and work the days you want. In order to seek employment as a substitute teacher in M-DCPS, the candidate must have satisfactorily completed 30 college credits (the credits do not need to be education specific) from an accredited institution of higher education.
