Description:
This workshop will provide training on using several of the more advanced features of Lyris HQ including List segmentation, Triggers, Templates, Opt-in forms and Welcome emails.  Part Two will focus on best practices and tips and tricks for proper coding of email to ensure that they render correctly across multiple email clients. High-quality coding also improves deliverability by preventing your emails from being stopped by spam filters.


 Objectives

As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe how to use advanced logic for creating segments and triggers 
  • Identify the situations where templates could be used, as well as how to create and edit them
  • Create an opt-in form and explain what each portion of the code does
  • List best practices for ensuring that emails adhere to visual specifications on multiple platforms
  • Identify the major mail clients and specific challenges inherent in each with respect to rendering designs consistently
  • View examples of code that render inconsistently across various mail clients and what was done to correct each issue

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
