The purpose of this workshop is to offer hands on training in Live Text. Live Text is the e-portfolio and course management system adopted by the School of Education.

* Adjunct faculty will be compensated at a rate of $20.00/hour upon successful completion of the workshop. While you are welcome to take a workshop more than once, CTD can only compensate adjunct faculty for the first time that they take one of these workshops.



As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Utilize the EPI E-portfolio Guidelines Packet to scaffold EPI participants in the completion of their portfolios
  • Recognize the components that comprise the SOE E-portfolio
  • Differentiate a reflection that exemplifies growth in direct correlation to the artifact and standard from a reflection that fails to do so
  • Discuss FLDOE'S and SOE requirements for the SOE WPI E-Portfolio
  • Utilize LiveText rubrics to assess the coursework of SOE EPI participants
  • Implement the various uses of LiveText, such as templates, rubrics, and resources to enhance the delivery of the curriculum, course discussions, successful coursework completion, and assessment of course work

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
