Description:
This workshop will provide training on the ChemDraw Ultra software. This
software program is a molecule editor developed by the Cheminformatics
Company CambridgeSoft. This program will allow faculty to create and
modify representations of chemical structures. Molecular drawing
programs, such as this one, are used to generate two dimensional (flat)
representations of molecules and chemical reactions that can by used as
illustrations or for querying chemical databases. The programs features
include the following Rich polymer notation, generic structure
expansion, fragmentation tools, and a modern user interface. In
addition, it will allow large numbers of molecules to be modified
automatically.
The participants will prepare a lesson plan to demonstrate how they
incorporate the ChemDraw software into their lesson plans. Rubric-
The lesson plan will be evaluated by Dr. Qianhui Zhang for mastery of
objectives, and each participant will receive professional development
credit based upon completion of a satisfactory lesson plan.
Participants will have three weeks to turn in their assignment.
