Description:
Students in a language class usually possess diverse abilities and learning styles. Our role as educators is to find ways to appeal to and inspire every student. Part I of this workshop will discuss five specific strategies that work for different types of learners and in multi-level classes.  We will also take a look at popular communicative activities and ways to adapt them to different classes.  Part 2 of the workshop will focus on strategies to foster persistence among ESL learners.  We will explore how setting goals, providing ongoing assessment, and teaching students how to self-study during a "stopping out" period can lead to successful completion of an educational program for ESL students.
