Short Title: Learning Outcomes

 Audience    Adjunct Faculty
Length of Workshop:       4 hours 

The purpose of this workshop is to provide adjunct faculty with information about the development of the Miami Dade College Learning Outcomes, to describe the College wide Learning Outcome assessment process, to show how adjunct faculty are essential to student success in respect to the Learning Outcomes, and to introduce authentic assessment as a tool for adjunct faculty to use. 

* Adjunct faculty will be compensated at a rate of $20.00/hour upon successful completion of the workshop.  While you are welcome to take a workshop more than once, CTD can only compensate adjunct faculty for the first time that they take one of these workshops.


As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the development of the College Learning Outcomes
  • Describe the College wide assessment process for the Learning Outcomes
  • Explain their role in helping students understand and be successful with the College Learning Outcomes
  • Apply intentional strategies in their classrooms to facilitate development of the Learning Outcomes 
  • Design authentic assessments and rubrics for their courses

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
