Description:
During this information
session, members of the Learning Outcomes Assessment Team will engage
faculty in a discussion about the institution-level outcomes-based
assessment the College-wide Student Learning Outcomes Assessment (CSLOA)
process for the fall term. This workshop will be especially useful for
those faculty members whose classes were identified as part of the
college-wide sample for the institutional learning outcomes assessment
process.
Objectives
As a result of successful completion of the
workshop, participants will be able to:

Explain the purpose and guiding principles of student
learning outcomes assessment at MDC.

Define and distinguish between program, course and
institution-level learning outcomes assessment at MDC.
-
Distinguish between the existing measures of student
learning used at the national, state and institution level.
-
Explain the types of assessment tools used for
institution-wide assessment.
-
Summarize specific information about the 2010-2011 MDC
Learning Outcomes Assessment Team and its charge.
-
Explain key actions associated with the Fall 2010
assessment administration process.
-
Articulate various individual roles in supporting the
assessment process.

Explain key features of the assessment tools used for
the MDC learning outcomes assessment process.

How to Register
Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and
Registration system. The process for registering for a CTD
workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.
You can access the Registration System and register
for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to
login to your computer. Example: Richard
Johnson would be rjohnson (You will
NOT
need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD
workshop)
Make a note of the Reference Number for the
workshop then go to
Registration Instructions
Once you have registered for a class, you can print your
schedule. Please make every effort to attend once
you've registered as seats are limited.
However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web
Registration screen. CTD classes will
appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
If you need special assistance to
