Description:
This workshop,
the second in a series of two, is designed for faculty and student
services representatives who completed the first workshop on Targeted
Student Learning Outcome Assessment and have administered their
individually developed assessments for the following four targeted
outcomes: #2 Quantitative Analysis, #5 Global, Cultural, and Historical
Perspectives, #7 Ethical Thinking, and #9 Aesthetic Appreciation. After
an overview of holistic scoring using rubrics and anchor papers,
participants will score their assessments in groups/teams. In group
discussions participants will share, discuss and compare the results of
their authentic assessments. They will discuss the planned improvements
they intend to implement in their designated course or service area
based on the result analysis. Participants will also learn how to
upload their results onto a designated Sharepoint site in order share
their work with other MDC faculty and student services representatives.

Objectives
As a result of successful completion of the
workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe and apply the principles of holistic
scoring
- Explain the MDC Learning Outcomes Assessment
Process
- Aggregate assessment results
- Describe intended student learning improvement
related to the targeted outcome in their course or service area
- Prepare a report of their assessment results
finding and the steps those results will lead them to take in
strengthening student learning

How to Register
Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and
Registration system. The process for registering for a CTD
workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.
You can access the Registration System and register
for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to
login to your computer. Example: Richard
Johnson would be rjohnson (You will
NOT
need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD
workshop)
Make a note of the Reference Number for the
workshop then go to
Registration Instructions
Once you have registered for a class, you can print your
schedule. Please make every effort to attend once
you've registered as seats are limited.
However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web
Registration screen. CTD classes will
appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
If you need special assistance to
