Description:
This grant workshop explains the MDC proposal development process. This includes how MDC finds grant opportunities, the different levels of approval that must be acquired for proposals, how proposals are submitted to funders, and the various roles of the Resources Development department in the proposal development process.

Objectives

As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the pre-approval process for grant applications and letters of intent submitted by MDC and MDC Foundation
  • Explain the role of the grant writer in the MDC proposal development process
  • Describe the process for the Resource Development review of the MDC grant proposal application
  • Explain how Resource Development obtains the required approvals for the submission of a grant application
  • Explain the MDC grant application submission process that is conducted by the Resource Development personnel

* Faculty members who are interested in this Grant Series are welcomed to attend. However, plans are underway to offer the series in this year's Spring Break Seminar to be offered between Spring and Summer Terms. Faculty Professional Development hours will be available for that seminar.

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
