Description:
The Global Education Seminar will
provide MDC professors with collaborative opportunities for engaged
scholarship, interdisciplinary practice, and inquiry centered on the
themes of identity, culture, diversity, social justice, and ecological
sustainability utilizing both local and global perspectives. The Seminar
will provide an intense, three day program designed to explore critical
international issues and initiate creative and practical solutions to
address them by convening faculty from throughout the college to work
collaboratively with colleagues and speakers.
In preparation for the seminar, participants will read a selection of materials on the topic of globalization and prepare a written reaction. During the event, they will engage in collaborative discussion activities that will require them to think critically ,examine problems from multiple perspectives, and debate seemingly opposing points of view. As a capstone activity, participants will present their conclusions about how to best advance student achievement of MDC Student Learning Outcome Number 5.

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system. The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.
You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer. Example: Richard Johnson would be rjohnson (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop)
Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions
Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule. Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited. However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen. CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
