Description: Creating a More Positive
Learning encompasses three broad domains - knowledge, behaviors and
attitudes. When we create a positive learning environment for
learning, we set the conditions for students to move through a
range of behaviors in each domain, from simple to increasingly complex,
until they achieve mastery of course learning outcomes.
Participants in the workshop will have an opportunity to apply the
principles of developing a positive environment.
Adjunct faculty will be compensated at a
rate of $20.00/hour for attending this workshop.
As a result of successful
completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explain the contradictory, even
paradoxical nature of education
- Apply the Law of Service to
psychological, instructional and physical learning environments to
enhance the learning process
- Explain the importance of clear and
effective communication in the educational process
- Differentiate between three educational
- Analyze and evaluate various
suggestions and innovations for improving the educational climate.
- Describe the challenges as well as the
innovations opportunities of diversity in providing effective

How to Register
Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and
Registration system. The process for registering for a CTD
workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.
You can access the Registration System and register
for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to
login to your computer. Example: Richard
Johnson would be rjohnson (You will
need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD
workshop) The first time
you log in to the Registration Page, you will be asked to accept the
Use of Computing Resources
at Miami Dade College. The Accept button is located at
the bottom of the screen.
PLEASE NOTE: You
do not have to create a student myMDC account to register for a
CTD workshop. You can use your regular network login name
and password proceeded by the MDCC\
- Go to the
- Choose the Term from the dropdown menu.
- Enter your PIN number (If you don't
remember your PIN, you can reset it by clicking the
Update My Pin button.)
- Click the myMDC Log In
- Log in using your regular username
and password. Your username must
be proceeded by the MDCC\
ex. Joe Smith would login in with
User name -
mdcc\jsmith and his regular password.

Once logged in, you should use Speed Registration.
You must know the Reference number for the workshop you want to
take. You can still search for workshops using the Course
ID or Short title, if you click on Shopping Cart. The
best way to register is by Reference number.
Once you have registered for a class, you can print your
schedule. Please make every effort to attend once
you've registered as seats are limited.
However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web
Registration screen. CTD classes will
appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
