Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) is to ensure the college is a disaster resilient institution of higher education by incorporating a “whole community” approach in its mitigation strategy to: prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters or manmade hazards as a core capability.

Helpful Information About the Zika Virus

As you may have heard, there are new cases of the Zika virus being reported in Miami-Dade County not far from downtown Miami. MDC is monitoring the situation as it develops and taking appropriate steps as necessary. In the meantime, we would like to help keep you informed with useful information about protection and prevention according to the CDC and other official sources.
