2026 Spring Seminar: Design Your Own Pathway (DYOP)

The Modern Educator’s Tech & AI Toolkit

Welcome

Dear Faculty Participants,

Welcome to the 2026 Spring Seminar: Design Your Own Pathway (DYOP) — The Modern Educator’s Tech & AI Toolkit, hosted by CIOL at Miami Dade College.

Over three and a half days, you will work intentionally to design technology‑enhanced learning experiences that support student engagement, motivation, retention, resilience, and success.

The overall goal of the seminar is for each participant to create a technology‑enhanced learning module in Canvas that addresses a real teaching or learning challenge. The seminar emphasizes the thoughtful integration of AI and non‑AI instructional technologies, grounded in sound pedagogy, course design principles, and accessibility.

On the final day (Thursday), you will participate in roundtable discussions with colleagues from another track to share your design journey, reflect on what you learned, and discuss how technology and AI can support student success.

Expectations for Faculty Participants

Faculty participants are expected to:

  • Attend and actively participate in the full Spring Seminar program (three and one‑half days), including all Team Time meetings.
  • Attend daily workshops and capture key takeaways in the Notes sections.
  • Participate in daily Team Time meetings to:
    • Share insights from workshops and learning experiences.
    • Actively listen to colleagues.
    • Offer constructive feedback.
  • Submit the required project at the end of Day 3.
  • Share your work during Day 4 activities.
