Mirta Ojito reads from “Finding Mañana,” her moving memoir of one family’s life in Cuba and their wrenching departure. Raised in Havana until the Mariel boatlift brought her to Miami, Ojito tells of the journey, chronicling the individual stories that compose a major history event.* (In English)

Triumph of the Spirit


The paintings of Ernesto Briel (1943 - 1992), the painter who introduced the Op Art movement in Cuba in the 1960s and who was among those who fled Cuba through Mariel Harbor. His abstract art is recognizable for its rich tones, literary imagination and symbolism.
