In the Fall of 1998, a
state-of-the-art Library facility opened at Miami-Dade Community
College, Homestead Campus. The introduction of advanced
technology, which includes a campus-wide computer network, Internet
access, resources and over 30 computer workstations, enables students,
staff and faculty to access and retrieve unlimited resources.
Combine this with traditional library resources including books,
periodicals and audio-visual materials. Some of our services
include: |
LINCC, Library
Information Network for Community Colleges provides access to the
electronic card catalog, online databases and encyclopedias, and the
Internet. |

The Homestead
Campus Network provides access to a variety of online databases and
the Internet, including the World Wide Web, and web-based resources.
|
Loan of
circulation materials, including books, distance education materials,
and audio-visual resources. |
Periodicals:
Current journals, magazines and newspapers are available for browsing
and/or photocopying. We also have a backfile collection in microfilm
format. |
Interlibrary
Loan: A request system is available providing resource sharing among
other community colleges, state universities, public libraries and
other educational institutions around the world. |
Reference
service provided by professional librarians. Bibliographic
instruction, group orientation and individual instruction by
appointment. |
Reserve
service provides access to a special collection of materials selected
by professors as well as distance education resources. Includes print
and audio-visual resources. |
