American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA)
A professional organization that supports the concepts of holism:
a state of harmony among body, mind, emotions and spirit within an ever-changing environment. This site provides
education and information about holistic nursing. It also provides a practitioner directory.
American Nurses Association (ANA)
A full-service professional organization representing the nation's 2.6 million
Registered Nurses through its 54 constituent state associations and 10 organizational affiliate members. ANA
advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting the economic and general
welfare of nurses in the workplace, projecting a positive and realistic view of nursing, and by lobbying the
Congress and regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public.
American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE)
A subsidiary of the American Hospital Association, AONE is a national organization of over 6,000 nurse leaders who design, facilitate, and manage care. AONE offers educational opportunities and award & recognition programs.
Florida Nurses Association (FNA)
A constituent of the American Nurses Association.
Florida Organization of Nurse Executives (FONE)
The Florida chapter of the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA)
A Miami-based association that provides Haitian and Haitian-American nurses the opportunity to
share and promote issues of interest to their profession and to become involved with the Haitian community of South
Florida by providing services and educational programs relevant to the health and welfare of the Haitian community.
Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International
Membership is by invitation to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, and to nurse leaders exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing. The Society provides awards, job listings and continuing education opportunities.
International Council of Nurses
A federation of national nurses’ associations, representing nurses in more than 128 countries.
National League for Nursing (NLN)
A professional organization dedicated to advancing quality nursing education that prepares the
nursing workforce to meet the needs of diverse populations in an ever-changing health care environment.
Transcultural Nursing Society
Provides nurses and other healthcare professionals with the knowledge base necessary to ensure cultural competence in practice, education, research, and administration.
