Due to printing deadlines, only those Miami Dade College students who applied for graduation by the deadline of Monday, March 26 will have their names listed in the Commencement Program. Students may apply for graduation in the Advisement Office located in Building R, Room 243. Please call 305-237-2125 for assistance.
You are eligible to participate in Commencement 2018 if your program requirements were met this academic year, or will be met by the end of Summer 2018. If you meet this requirement, we urge you to join us in recognizing this educational benchmark.
A limited number of guest tickets are available for our 6:30 p.m. Commencement ceremony. Tickets will be distributed in the Kendall Bookstore beginning Tuesday, April 24th on a first-come, first-served basis. Each graduate may pick up a maximum of four tickets while supplies last.

There is no fee for the cap and gown if you have applied for graduation. The cap and gown are yours to keep.
Honor regalia will be available for pick up in the bookstore between April 24 - May 2. All graduates and degree candidates who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 GPA or higher will receive special recognition as Honor Graduates. Honor students that have applied for graduation during the Fall 2016, Spring 2018, and Summer 2018 terms will receive the following regalia free of charge: 3.5-3.69 GPA Honors Tassel; 3.7-4.0 GPA Honors Tassel & Honors Cord. Students must bring their degree audits and picture ID to pick up their items from the bookstore.
Graduating student veterans may pick up special cords to wear during commencement in the Bookstore during cap and gown distribution days. Veterans will be recognized during the commencement ceremony.
Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) students may pick up their graduation medals at the School of Business (R427) between April 30 - May 4, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Students must have a valid MDC ID to pick up these items.

Professional photographers will photograph all graduates as they walk across the stage. A proof of the photo and a blank order form will be emailed to the graduate’s listed address. PERSONAL PHOTOS MAY NOT BE TAKEN OF INDIVIDUAL GRADUATES AS THEY CROSS THE STAGE.
Graduating students should arrive in their cap and gown at 5:00 p.m. and follow the signs to the graduate registration area inside the Fieldhouse in the University of Miami Watsco Center. All graduates MUST bring their MDC ID, name card, cap, gown, and tassel. Purses, handbags, and photographic equipment cannot be carried into the theater or across the stage. It is suggested that graduates safeguard these items by leaving them with a family member or guest that will be part of the audience. Seating for graduates will be available on a first-come first-served basis. We encourage you to arrive at 5:00 p.m.
Guests will be able to enter the theater beginning at 5:00 p.m. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and is expected to end at 8:30 p.m. This is a very special day for many attendees so we ask that everyone remain seated until the end of the ceremony. Cell phones MUST be turned off or set to vibrate mode during the ceremony.
Students and guests may park in the Pavia, Merrick, or Ponce de Leon Parking Garages. Special needs parking will be available in the nearby surface lots, and City of Coral Gables Police will be on site to direct traffic. Everyone entering the theater must have a ticket, including infants and children. Cell phones must be silenced or turned off. All persons, including graduates and guests, entering the University of Miami Watsco Center are subject to a security screening with a metal detector wand and/or inspection of belongings. Failure to consent to screening and inspection will result in a denial of entry to the University of Miami Watsco Center.
Items not permitted: Coolers, baby strollers, banners, noisemakers, balloons, large cameras and tripods.
