CLAS (College-Level Academic Skills)

No more CLAS!

Effective July 1, 2011, College-Level Academic Skills (CLAS) is no longer an associate in arts (A.A.) degree or bachelor's degree graduation requirement. Students enrolled at Miami Dade College (MDC) in credit classes during Summer 2010 (Term 2009-3) and thereafter do not need to meet CLAS requirements for MDC graduation purposes.

A.A. degree-seeking students who have “all but CLAS” met and enrolled at MDC prior to summer 2009-3 and have not yet graduated should contact an academic advisor at any MDC campus Advisement & Career Services Office.

For additional information please contact the Florida Department of Education or Miami Dade College/Call Center at (305) 237-8888 or via e-mail at mdcinfo@mdc.edu.

Note:

CLAST scores for FTCEProspective and returning teacher certification candidates who have taken the CLAST prior to July 1, 2002 and received passing scores on any subtest may request a duplicate CLAST score report via the State’s web portal. Any CLAST subtest not passed by June 30, 2002 will require corresponding subtests from GKT.
