Miami Dade College (MDC), along with all other Florida community colleges, administers the Florida College Entry-Level Placement Test.
The test is administered on the computer and is commonly referred to as the CPT. The test measures reading, writing, and algebra skills. MDC requires additional testing in mathematics depending on the score received on the algebra subtest of the CPT.
The test is untimed but most students take approximately two hours to complete the test. A paper and pencil version of the test and special accommodations for disabled students are also available. Placement test scores are valid for two years. |
