Placement Testing Information
Students who are admitted to MDC may be required to take placement tests in order to establish eligibility for placement into certain courses or curriculum, or to place the students at their proper level of study commensurate with their ability and past achievements. STUDENTS WITH LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY SEEKING ASSOCIATE DEGREES OR COLLEGE CREDIT CERTIFICATE Students whose native language is not English and are seeking an associate degree or college credit, may be required to take a test to measure their English proficiency before entry-level testing is permitted. PLACEMENT CRITERIA FOR POSTSECONDARY CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS Entry-level testing is required for students seeking career certificates upon entry to the program. TABE

PLACEMENT CRITERIA FOR ADULT GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS Each educational agency offering Adult General Education programs is required to administer a State-approved examination to place adult education students.
PLACEMENT CRITERIA FOR EARLY COLLEGE (DUAL) ENROLLMENT Testing is required for all early college (dual) enrollment students registering in college credit or career certificate programs.
