Welcome to the West Testing Center. We are dedicated to providing quality assessment services to our students and the local community of South Florida. The West Testing Center administers the Computerized Placement Test (CPT) and the Compass/ESL (ACT-ESL). In addition, we also provide proctoring services for educational institutions and businesses.

Exams offered
Computerized Placement Test (CPT) or Accuplacer
An entry level placement test designed to identify your academic strengths and weaknesses in reading, writing, and mathematics. This information will be used to advice and place students in proper courses. The test is untimed but typically requires approximately two hours to complete.

COMPASS/ESL (ACT – ESL)
(MDC APPROVED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY PLACEMENT TEST)
Students without sufficient English proficiency to take the CPT are required to take the Compass/ACT-ESL examination. This includes students with foreign degrees that were earned from an accredited institution where the official language of instruction was not English or students who took ESOL courses during their 11th and 12th grade years in high school.

Students must present two forms of identification prior to taking any examination. One must be a current official picture ID from the list below.
- Valid Driver’s License issued by the United States
- Official ID issued by the State of Florida or Federal Government
- A valid passport
- Military ID
- Tribal ID
The second ID must have the student’s name with signature or a picture (e.g. MDC card, school ID, library card, social security card, voter registration card credit/debit card, or other official ID bearing the student’s name and signature).
