Mission of the School of Education

The mission of Miami Dade College School of Education (SOE) is to educate, prepare and train students to meet or exceed the standards of excellence for the teaching profession. The School of Education is student-centered and will prepare educators with the content knowledge, skills, attitudes, philosophy and behaviors required for teaching excellence. The School will impact the educational community at the local, state and national levels by graduating outstanding students, being responsive to student and community needs, and by providing professional leadership.

The main purpose of the School of Education is to provide education and professional development that not only meets but exceed standards of excellence for the teaching profession. The SOE fosters high academic standards, addresses issues of diversity, promotes technological literacy, engages in scientific inquiry, and maintains collaborative partnerships to develop educational professionals who value lifelong learning.
