MUSIC
Welcome to the Music Department!
We offer the first two years of a four-year music degree in performance, music education, and theory and composition.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
Our program provides private instruction on all instruments. Department performing ensembles range from Renaissance to Rock groups providing performance opportunities in small combo groups, large choruses and concert bands. Performing groups have traveled throughout the continental US as well as Europe, South America and the Caribbean.
Music students transfer to universities such as Florida State University, Florida International University, University of Florida and the University of Miami, as well as out-of-state schools. We have established relationships with the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston while negotiations for articulations agreements with additional schools are underway. Kendall Campus transfer students have done very well at the upper division universities, as many of the local music teachers are former Kendall campus students.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES & INVOLVEMENT
Here you will find a very active student chapter of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) whose members are consistently elected to offices at the state level. You will study with an award-winning faculty whose major goal is to ensure your success in completing your objectives. They are artist and performers with composing, studio recording and live performing credits to their resume.
