Nancy Shelby began her college career at Miami Dade College in 2010 and completed an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration. From there, Nancy continued to work towards a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Supervision and Management, graduating in 2013. “It seemed right for me to focus my studies with an accredited institution that was near my home and place of employment.”
While studying at MDC, Nancy worked as a secretary for Helena Chemical, a national chemical company that specializes in agricultural needs. Upon completion of her bachelor’s degree, she was quickly promoted to the warehouse manager. As the warehouse manager, she is responsible for all activities and projects in the warehouse area. This includes troubleshooting and management within inventory services for all warehouse and driver issues. She also serves as a futurist, keeping the company on the cutting edge of current warehouse and business intelligence technology. When asked about her accomplishments, Nancy notes that “Miami Dade College prepared me for success in the business world. I was able to take classes both online and face-to-face, which allowed me to accommodate both work and school into my busy life”.
