Shark Academy is our award winning summer enrichment program that prepares you for a stronger start and a more successful first semester at college. 

Shark Academy enrichment courses in mathematics, reading and writing are available at most MDC campuses at convenient times—morning, afternoon and evening—from June through August.

Each Shark Academy enrichment course meets for a total of 16 hours, Monday-Friday, over one week.  Instruction is personalized to meet your individual needs, and the software you use in class is available for refresher skill-building all summer.

The cost of Shark Academy is $26 per course, which includes software access and information about your progress to help you choose Math and English courses for fall term.

Refund, Drop & Add Policy:

  • If you want to drop a test prep class that you have registered for, you are required to drop the course by the first day of class (Monday) no later than 5:00 pm to get a full refund. Full refunds will not be available after 5:00 pm on the first day of class.
  • If you do not show up for the first day of class (Monday), you will be removed from the course roster. You will have 24 hours (Tuesday at 5:00 pm) to be able to register for another test preparation course without having to pay another course fee. This process may be done only once through MDC’s School of Continuing Education and Professional Development.
