Midwifery (Associate in Science)

Pre-Select Curriculum

The MidwiferyPre-Program Code (Code 23043) is used to identify students who have expressed interest in the Associate degree in Midwifery, but have not been accepted into the program. Midwifery courses are taken after you have submitted an application to the Midwifery program and have been accepted in the program. Selection is based on the completion of specified preselect courses and date of application to the Midwifery program. See a Midwifery Program Information Booklet for details.

Additional Requirements

Student must successfully complete CGS 1060 (Intro to Microcomputer Usage) or have a passing score on the Computer Competency test.

Student must complete successfully MAT 1033 or any higher college level math course or score on the CPT math at college level.

2. Natural Science/ Mathematics Area (19 credits required)

Student must complete successfully the following Natural Science courses prior entering the Midwifery program. Student can take these asterisks (*) courses along with the Midwifery curriculum.

Additional Information

Note: HSC 0001- Introduction to Health Care or its equivalent will be required for acceptance into the Midwifery program. Documentation of health care license or certification may be used to waive this requirement.

Due to the limited number of students that can be accepted into the Midwifery program, it is important that applicants be properly informed. For information advisement, application forms, and deadline dates, interested students should contact the New Student Center, Medical Center Campus.

Students should check their individualized Degree Audit Report to determine the specific graduation policies in effect for their program of study for the year and term they entered Miami‑Dade. This outline includes current graduation requirements. The final responsibility for meeting graduation requirements stated in your Degree Audit Report rests with you.

Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 is required.
