NEW STUDENT CHECKLIST
STEP 1

NEW STUDENT CENTER, Room 1106, 305-237-6190


  • Obtain an Admissions Application and speak with a Pre-Admission Counselor.
  • Take completed application to the Admissions Office, Room 1113, and receive your Student Number or apply on-line.
  • Pick up a Financial Aid Application in Room 1117-2.
 
STEP 2
TESTING, Room 1108, 305-237-6041

New Students:
  • Make an appointment to take the College Placement Test (CPT) in room 1108, Testing Department.
  • Send your SAT or ACT scores to the College.
New Transfer Students:
  • If you have completed a college-level English and Math course, go directly to Advisement with your transcript.
New International Students and/or Non-native Speaker of English:
  • Take the English Placement Test (Michigan Exam) in room 1106 for appointment.
Student enrolling in Vocational Courses or Vocational Programs:
  • Take the TABE test in room 1108, Testing Department.

STEP 3
ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT, Room 1117, 305-237-6133

New Students:
  • Take your test scores to an Advisor for help in selecting your classes.
  • Obtain a signed "Class Selection Form" from an advisor.
New Transfer Students:
  • Bring a copy of your transcripts.
Transient Student Procedures:
  • Need a transient form signed by the Academic Advisor at their home institution.
