Biography

Throughout his career, Dr. Vance Dean Moulton has shared and taught music to people of all ages and backgrounds. While teaching privately, operating a production studio, and performing as a vocalist/ guitarist, he earned his baccalaureate in music from the Colorado College, and followed this with a four-year tour in the United States Air Force Academy Band in Colorado Springs, CO, as a sound and recording engineer for the USAFA Concert Band, brass and woodwind ensembles, The Falconaires Big Band, Blue Steel rock band, and Wild Blue Country.

While performing in an Americana Music-based group, Dr. Moulton completed a Master of Music degree from Syracuse University culminating in a Meet the Composer commission which included collaboration with Syracuse area public schools dance and drama teachers and their young students.

Since making Miami home, Dr. Moulton completed a Doctoral degree from the University of Miami and recently had his third composition performed with the South Florida Youth Symphony and Southwood Middle School choir. He has been a general music teacher and chorus director for Dr. Henry E. Perrine Academy of the Arts, as well as an adjunct faculty member for Miami Dade College’s Music, Theater, and Dance department for the last 15 years and performs traditional American popular music regularly in local Miami venues.
