Are you interested in playing jazz or do you know someone who is? If so, the Community Jazz Ensemble at Miami Dade College's Kendall Campus is just what you're looking for! The Community Jazz Ensemble (also called Studio Jazz if you enroll for credit), comprised of students of all ages and abilities, promises to be an educational and enjoyable musical experience! There will be at least one public performance every semester, so your family and friends will be able to come and see you perform in concert!
The Community Jazz Ensemble performs standard jazz repertoire as well as original compositions ranging from big band to Latin Jazz.
Although this is a community ensemble and everyone is welcome to enroll, you must be able to read music in order to participate. If your instrument is piano, guitar or bass you also need to be able to read chord changes. This ensemble is open to vocalists and high school students as well!
