THEATRE
The Theatre Department trains talented students to be exciting, versatile and accomplished professionals. The area emphasizes classical values in its training process to meet a well-recognized demand for actors who are technically skilled and creatively inspired. This vital combination of talent and skill is developed and refined by a highly qualified professional faculty through close, personal attention to their student's growth.
The Theatre faculty members are committed to advancing standards of quality and integrity in the acting profession. They dedicate themselves to shaping actors who are capable of making this kind of contribution in Theatre. It is our aim to produce students who will possess a finely honed technique and a discriminating artistic sensibility.
Each student engages in a rigorous course of study involving acting, movement and voice. Students study major works from classical repertory through the 20th century. A broad spectrum of experience is provided through a full schedule of workshops and major productions.
The Theatre Department is housed in the recently constructed Building M, with a specially designed facility complete with a 150-seat black box theater. Additional facilities include dressing rooms, classroom and rehearsal space, scene and costume shops and a lobby
