A $30,000 grant from the Aetna Foundation will provide full scholarships to 50 deserving students who would otherwise be unable to pay the $600 fee to attend the Summer Academy at MDC’s New World School of the Arts. The comprehensive scholarships will also cover all materials, activities, transportation needs and meals. The curriculum will include daily training in ballet and modern dance techniques. The music portion will be an immersion in strings while theater will focus on a blend of fundamentals including acting, voice and dance. In the visual arts division, students will explore a variety of mediums.
