New look for New World map
Miami Dade College unveiled the recently restored New World map mural at the Freedom Tower, which is a National Historic Landmark. A symbol of shared heritage, the 40-foot New World mural has been part of the building since it first opened its doors in 1925 as the home of the Miami Daily News. Funding for the restoration was made possible by supporters such as former U.S. Senator Mel Martínez, who secured federal appropriations for the Freedom Tower.
