Acclaimed Alumni Unify Talents for the Stage

MDC alumni are major players in stage productions all around the country. Recently, heavy hitters Teo Castellanos and Tarell Alvin McCraney brought home their creative genius in Third Trinity, which opened last month in Miami to great critical acclaim.

Castellanos won a Knight Arts Challenge in 2013 for the creation of the crazier-than-fiction albeit autobiographical piece. He delivers its narrative, composed of various voices, in his singular style that transcends role-playing. McCraney, named a MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Fellow last year, provided direction and dramaturgy for Third Trinity and is a member of Teo Castellanos D-Projects, Castellanos’ contemporary dance/theater company.
