The Idea Center has partnered with the South Florida chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO-SOFLO) to bring additional opportunities for aspiring student entrepreneurs at MDC and local startups.

EO-SOFLO – whose members’ businesses account for more than $1 billion in annual revenues and 30,000 jobs in the region – will collaborate to offer seminars, develop joint programs and mentor students. The events will highlight EO Accelerator, a program featuring educational content in four key issues faced by startups and first-stage entrepreneurs: strategic planning, sales and marketing, human resources and finance.

The Idea Center and EO also are planning the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards in early 2016, a competition that provides student entrepreneurs a combined $150,000 in prize money and mentoring from some of the world’s top business owners.
