Virtual College Adds Four Online Bachelor’s Degrees

Miami Dade College has long been committed to helping students complete their education by offering numerous classes online through its Virtual College. Expanding individual course offerings to include complete degree programs, MDC now offers four online bachelor’s degrees launched this spring to meet the region’s and nation’s growing workforce needs. Students have eagerly enrolled in the new virtual programs leading to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Supply Chain Management, Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management, Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Management and Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology.

The programs allow for the option of accelerated degree completion, which is a major selling point for many of the students who attend Miami Dade College and are juggling job and family responsibilities with their coursework.

If a student has finished their lower-division courses, they can expect to complete their bachelor’s degree in just 18 months. Online credit can also be combined with Prior Learning Assessment credit from work or military experience.

“Many students today are working adults with families, jobs and other obligations that make physically attending courses on campus almost impossible,” said Dr. Jeffrey Larson, executive director of MDC’s Virtual College. “We provide an online pathway to college attendance that might be their only realistic option for obtaining a higher-level degree.”

Miami Dade College has been named Best Higher Education Institution in Support of Workforce Development by The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s economic development office.

MDC’s high-quality and convenient online programs make it easier than ever to get a bachelor’s degree that prepares you for the workforce. Among the many advantages of an MDC online degree are:

  1. Accelerated degree completion
  2. Affordable tuition
  3. Dedicated MDC professors with real-world experience
  4. Ability to mix and match online and in-person classes
  5. Choice of attending full time or part time
  6. Acceptance of transfer credits
  7. Belonging to a military-friendly institution – active duty and veterans qualify for tuition assistance benefits
  8. Excellent administrative and advising support
