MDC Hosts Venezuelan Activist

The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Initiatives (CLACI) at MDC recently hosted a press conference for Lilian Tintori, a pro-democracy activist and wife of jailed Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo López. A university graduate in early education and communications, she has spoken at MDC several times about the current developments in her country. During this latest visit, which generated an abundance of media coverage, Tintori thanked supporters in the community who helped make recent victorious elections in Venezuela possible while stressing the importance of restoring democracy in Venezuela.
