Making Their Mark

Lifting the Bottom Line

Leading the way in every line of work, MDC alumni have transformed the South Florida landscape. From health care, technology and the arts to public service and teaching, thriving industries turn to MDC for top talent. In the field of banking, alumni shine at many companies across the nation, with four power hitters right here in South Florida at JPMorgan Chase.

Fernando Crespo is a managing director at JPMorgan Private Bank, where he oversees a wealth management team focused on ultra-high net worth clients, whom they advise on banking, investment management, wealth transfer and trust management needs. As a key member of JPMorgan Florida’s buildout in 2009, he has been integral to the success of the Florida market. Mr. Crespo was also a member of J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s National Advisory Committee from 2009 to 2011 as well as analyst manager for Florida from 2010 and 2011. A life-long resident of Miami, Crespo is an active member of the community and currently sits on the boards of the executive committee for the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation and the Core Creative for the Pérez Art Museum Miami.

Manny Cardenas has been with Chase and JPMorgan Chase for more than 20 years. Now lending manager for Miami-Dade County, he began as a retail branch manager for then-Washington Mutual and was also a retail bank district manager. Cardenas specializes in mortgage and consumer lending, with expertise in small business lending and financial services. He is a member of JPMorgan’s Good Works employee volunteer group and has volunteered as a cycling coach for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society since 1998. “MDC was a great platform to launch my education and most importantly helped me realize how many opportunities were available to me,” said Cardenas.

Guillermo G. Castillo is managing director and region manager for South Florida, Commercial Banking at JPMorgan Chase. He leads the commercial banking franchise for South Florida and co-chairs the local leadership team. Castillo began his career at Marine Midland Bank in New York, and over the next three decades he held posts of increasing responsibility at Southeast Bank and Bank of America. He has been with JPMorgan Chase in Miami since 2009. Active in the community, Castillo is on the board of directors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and an executive committee member of the Chapman Partnership.

Jessica Siqueira Manzano earned an associate degree with a focus in business administration at MDC then studied economics at Smith College, graduating cum laude before completing a master’s degree in finance. She is now a vice president and investment specialist at JPMorgan Chase in Miami. Her impressive background in finance and investing makes her a vital asset to the firm. She has worked in banking for more than a decade and has broad experience in fixed income, emerging markets, portfolio analysis and private banking.
