Students wishing to enroll in the Funeral Service Education Program need to first apply for admission to Miami Dade College Upon admission to the college students will be placed in a pre-select program prior to full admission to the major.
First time in college students and transfer students should meet with a general academic advisor following admission to the college. After you have met with a general academic advisor you should contact the Funeral Service Education Program office to schedule an appointment to meet with an FSE Faculty Mentor who will complete your academic plan (MAP) based on your specific needs. Since all funeral service mentors are full time faculty an appointment is encouraged to prevent any inconvenience. Walk-in advising is acceptable but you may encounter delays since precedence is given to those with appointments.
Once accepted to the college, students need to apply to the program in the semester they will meet program entry requirements. An application is available in the link below with instructions. Students are highly discouraged to self-advise themselves and should visit their FSE Faculty Mentor every semester to have their Individualized Educational Plan updated and to be made aware of any offering schedule or program changes. Class offerings/program requirements are liable to be changed without notice due to State of Florida administrative or legislative updates or other external influences.
The following forms are designed to assist you and give you information about the program and its offerings. Please contact the FSE office with any questions at 305-237-1244.
