Cross-Over Corrections to CMS Law Enforcement Academy
Course Description
The Basic Cross-over Academy from Corrections to CMS Law Enforcement prepares students as entry level law enforcement officers in the State of Florida.
This program is for students who are certified as Correction Officers and wish to continue with additional training to become certified as a law enforcement officer. Practical skills and simulated activities compliment the classroom instruccion. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to take the Florida Department of Law Enforcement State Certification Examination. This minimum standards class is regulated by Florida statutes and is a highly structured and disciplined program with rules, policies, and procedures. Admission Requirements
You must be a U.S. citizen
Applicants must be a state of Florida certified Corrections officer and be in good standing with their current employing correctional facility, employed for at least one year
Complete the Law Enforcement FBAT (Florida Basic Abilities Test), and a criminal history check at the cost of approximately $90.00
